World Environment Day – Take up the Fight against Pollution

In honor of the World Environment Day, I wanted to share the trailer to the movie Trashed – thanks to Mobius Faith Imaging’s blog for bringing it to my attention.

If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you know that ocean pollution is something I want to see come to an end, and here in the North Cape we have a project called One Step at a Time with a goal increasing awareness of this global problem and raising funds to help clean up our magnificent coastline.

As we celebrate World Enviornment Day, let’s think about consuming less, reusing what we have, and picking up trash when we see it.

Here’s how I’m resusing large, rubber fishing boots that have been washed up on shore:

  1. It’s beyond terrible and I’m so glad to see your part in doing something about it. The film looks hopeful (?) – lets hope so. Did you tell me about Boyan Slat’s solution for the four oceanic dumps?

    Thank you! :♥

  3. It is such a worry when we see so much plastic on our shores. The sea is drowning in plastics. The sea creatures must really be suffering.

  4. Reblogged this on Something to Ponder About and commented:
I hope everyone can do their little bit by reducing one off disposable plastic water bottles. It is not hard to reduce plastic, one needs to be vigilant, and a bit more organized to take water with you, when you leave the house. Even my own little creek has a disgusting amount of plastic bottles washed up, every 4 metres along the creek’s fringe. It has to stop! Or the world and the things that live in it, will..

hi erica, i can’t believe that those are from the coastline of norway… more people should really be aware of the destruction it could do to the sea and the sea creatures and to us.. one kind of specie gone could alter the balance of life .. by the way, i love your recycling idea on those rubber boots.. awesome!

  6. It is terribly and we are all responsible. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
