14 hours of daylight.. soon to be 24

The midnight sun is just around the corner.  In the next 6 weeks we will go from 14 hours of daylight to 24/7.  Today the sun rises at 5:15 am and will set at 7:25 pm.  This is the view from our house.. sun and snow, lots and lots of snow.

Enjoy the longer days. The view is really stunning. Happy Greetings. 😉

  4. Ooh wow – have always wondered what 24 hour of daylight was like… will have to be sure to visit during summer to experience it 🙂

Have you ever been this far north? I’ve checked out your blog and saw that you live in Australia. Make sure you have lots of time to explore, if and when you come 🙂

      • We have never been to Scandinavia but it is on our to-visit list. And the plan is when we do go, is spend a while there and make sure we travel far up north too.
We would love to see 24 hours of daylight but also would like to see Northern Lights too (so that can’t happen in the same season) – might just have to make at least a 6-month trip out of it 😉
Thank you so much for visiting our blog and for following us – glad to be connected!

If you come around the middle of July you can experience the midnight sun, and then at the end of the month you can go on a midnight hike and watch the sun set and rise in the course of a half hour 🙂 The Northern Lights can be seen in late September, early October, if you’re lucky. Glad to be connected as well.

  5. So much snow. We have none now (thats new). I shared your pic on FB.

Haven’t you had temps over 20 C recently?

      • Cindi says:

I don’t think it’s been quite that warm in our part of the area, but probably it has in Bergen proper. But it’s sure been gorgeous for over a week. Some of the trees are showing a bit of green — it will explode soon, and then we’ll have all of Norway’s shades of spring green on display. It will be beautiful … but I missed the sun and snow winters I’ve experienced the other winters I’ve been here. Your photos have helped make my eyes happy. 🙂

Sounds delightful! I’ll be looking forward to seeing your pictures when the green bursts across the landscape. We have to wait until mid-June for that 🙂 Enjoy Spring and have a great Wednesday 🙂
